President Bola Tinubu has made significant changes to his cabinet, dismissing five ministers and reassigning ten others. The changes were announced after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
Dismissed Ministers
The following ministers have been relieved of their duties: Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo (State for Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim (Youth Development).
Ministers with New Portfolios
The following ministers have been assigned new roles:
- Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu: Formerly Minister of State for Education, now Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
- Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa: Formerly Minister of State for Health, now Minister of Education.
- Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo: Formerly Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation, now Minister of State for Works.
- Hon. Abubakar Eshiokpekha Momoh: Formerly Minister of Niger Delta Development, now Minister of Regional Development.
- Uba Maigari Ahmadu: Formerly Minister of State for Steel Development, now Minister of State for Regional Development.
- Dr. Doris Azoka-Anite: Formerly Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, now Minister of State for Finance.
- Sen. John Owan Enoh: Formerly Minister of Sports Development, now Minister of State for Trade and Investment (Industry).
- Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim: Formerly Minister of State for Police Affairs, now Minister of Women Affairs.
- Ayodele Olawande: Formerly Minister of State for Youth Development, now Minister for Youth Development.
- Dr. Salako Iziaq Adekunle Adeboye: Formerly Minister of State for Environment, now Minister of State for Health.
