
Armed bandits launched a devastating attack on a Nigerian police base in Katsina State, resulting in the loss of six security operatives and one officer injured. The assault, which occurred on Tuesday, targeted the Mobile Police base in Garagi, Yartsamiyar Jino Village, under Kankara Local Government Area.
Attack Details:
Four security personnel and two civilians lost their lives in the attack.
The bandits made off with the officers’ rifles, further complicating the situation.
A primary school in Tsamiyar Jino, used as a security forces’ camp, was also set ablaze by the attackers.
Previous Incidents
Terrorists had earlier attacked Dan Auta village in Sabuwa Local Government Area, claiming two lives.
The terrorists also kidnapped the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Alhaji Imamu, and 13 villagers, including women and children.
The Katsina State Community Watch Corps and local vigilante groups put up resistance but were outnumbered by the assailants.
The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the incident, but attempts to reach ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the command’s Public Relations Officer, were unsuccessful.
The police have deployed additional operational assets to prevent future attacks and apprehend the perpetrators
