The Oyo State Government is set to distribute appointment letters to 7,000 newly recruited primary school teachers soon. This move is part of Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts to address the teacher shortage in public primary schools across the state.
The recruitment process, which began with a computer-based test (CBT), saw over 8,000 candidates pass, with those possessing the necessary educational qualifications being considered for appointment.
Special consideration was also given to individuals with special needs, promoting inclusivity in the education sector.
Dr. Nureni Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), assured that the quality of education will not be compromised, emphasizing the importance of standard quality assurance.
