The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has unveiled a novel online platform dedicated to empowering youths in the commercial transport sector. This innovative Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) e-portal enables young individuals to operate CNG-powered tricycles nationwide.
On Monday, Minister of State for Youth Development Ayodele Olawande announced the launch during a press conference. This exciting development follows the Federal Government’s distribution of 2,000 CNG-powered tricycles on October 1, aimed at uplifting Nigerian youths through the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative and the Youth Ministry.
According to Michael Oluwagbemi, Project Director of the Presidential Initiative on CNG, this initiative fulfills President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to reducing transportation costs, boosting economic growth, and promoting environmental sustainability through clean fuel adoption.
Olawande emphasized that the newly launched portal aims to enhance transparency in the enrollment process for young Nigerians to join the Presidential CNG initiative in the transport sector. By registering on the portal, youths across Nigeria can connect with aggregators or owners collaborating with the PiCNG program, paving the way for them to become owners themselves.
In essence, the youth portal seeks to simplify the enrollment process for the Presidential CNG Initiative in the transportation sector, ensuring a more inclusive and transparent experience for all.
Interested Youth should login via www.youthcng.ng or www.pci.gov.ng/tricycle to register.
